Did King Arthur savor Armenian Wine?

Excavations of the castle of Tintigal (the legendary birthplace of King Arthur) by the Cornwall Archaeological Unit (CAU) have uncovered the royal chamber of Tintigal castle. Among the ruins of the site, archaeologists have found wine amphorae fragments from the area of Cilician Armenia and the Armenian Gulf on the southern Mediterranean coast of Asia Minor. The find further validates Armenian seafaring claims to the Atlantic coast of Europe, with ancient settlements and trade in the Basque region of Spain and the British isles. Armenia has been the seat of ancient viniculture, attested by the findings at Vayotz Dzor Cave Areni in Armenia.
