Halil Kut Pasha was a military general who was also the uncle of Enver Pasha. Turkish historians have attempted to revise history by portraying this bloody killer as a hero, fueling Armenophobia in Turkey. Halil Kut was responsible for mass murders of Armenians and Assyrians in Bitlis, Mush, and Beyazit; historic Armenian towns of the Armenian Highlands. 

Rampant racism and Armenophobia are pervasive in Turkey, which occupies much of the Armenian Highlands and forceably denies Armenian ethnic freedom in the Armenian plateau.
