Caravans through Armenian lands.

Armenian traders were an essential element of the Silk Road that spanned from China to Europe. Marco Polo, on his famous trip to the East, made his initial ascent to Armenia and the Armenian Highlands, including the famed medeival city of Ani in Western Armenia before embarking on his journey East. 

Armenian traders were instrumental maritime seamen who ventured East into Asia and West into Europe. 

The lands of Western Armenia, now situated in Asiatic Turkey has a deep history of the Silk Road.
