Armenian Metal Industry Constantinople

Armenians formed a historic core of society within Constantinople (modern Istanbul) dating from before the Roman period of antiquity. Hampartzoum Menzildian & Company imported iron, steel, and hardware building materials, carriage supplies, agricultural machinery, and building implements. Head office in Sirkedji Istanbul and in Adrianople Turkey. Many of the commercial enterprises of Turkey owned by Armenians were expropriated through a systematic effort to seize Armenian owned property. 

Sirkedji, as denoted in the advertisement for Hampartzoum Menzildjian and Company, is now known as Istanbul Sirkeci Terminal or Istanbul Terminal and represents the railway terminal in Istanbul. It is located adjacent to the Golden Horn and Topkapi Palace.
