Crimson Red Dye
World history has always associated the noble Armenian Crimson Dye from the Armenian cochineal insect as a prized commodity. It has been used by royalty since Roman times. This royal red is also called Ararat Kermir or Ararat Garmir, an anglicized version of the Armenian word for red.
Akhtamar church contains frescoes containing this noble dye.
