Ayas is a famous Armenian city that prospered as a trading hub for Armenian Cilicia. Located on the northern rim of the Armenian Gulf, north of Antioch on the Mediterranean Sea. Ayas was an Armenian sea port that was visited by Marco Polo at the start of his trip to China and the East.
