Underwater Armenian Castle Found in Lake Van of Armenian Highlands
Lake Van is an epicenter of Armenian civilization since antiquity and is the site of the Armenian fortress of Haykaberd. Turkish archaeologists have uncovered an underwater castle, submerged as a result of rising water levels in Lake Van, but have done little to highlight the Armenian origins of the castle.
