Kemaliye is an Armenian town known as Egin (Ակն) or 'Spring' in Armenian, depopulated of its Armenian roots during the Armenian genocide by the Turks. Krikor Torosian was a famous satirist and writer who was killed during the Armenian Genocide and was born in Egin (Kemaliye)
