Armenia is called Hayastan in Armenian and refers to their ancient patriarch Hayk.
Many students of Armenian think of the modern republic of Armenia in the Caucuses, but Armenia exists in the lands of Cilicia on the Mediterranean coast of Anatollia, Western Armenia in Kars province, nakhichevan, and parts of modern day Azerbaijan ( a modern Soviet construct state), and Karabakh.
